This is the easiest way. bro. ^^

/e

Just install the SSD.
Unhook the HDD.
Install Win 10 on the SSD.
Rehook the HDD.
Install CCleaner (free) on the SSD and use it to wipe the HDD. You can just format the HDD as well...if you have no infections or similar on the HDD.

okay thanks man, ill try it out after work tomorrow.

/e In your case the HDD will probably be the D: or E: drive.
Make sure you select Entire drive from the drop down.

windows 10 installer?

my buddy was telling me a way that made no sense at all and had me download programs and shit...

Literally the first thing any windows installer asks you, Is which hard drive / partition to install to. From that screen, you can just format the entire hard drive / delete partitions. It's literally the easiest method, And requires no additional programs. Unhooking the HDD like ghot suggests, Only helps if you're keeping the data on your HDD but want to install a new windows on the SSD. Because it would put the boot manager on the existing HDD windows partition & if you ever removed the HDD the SSD wouldnt be able to load windows.

On this screen, Just delete the partitions of the HDD & Create a new, Single partition.

Then just install windows to the SSD, Done.

If just formatting, then my way requires no extra programs.

Unhooking the HDD just makes for less problems..in the long run.

/e No matter what the person following my directions does...my way will STILL work. I like to leave no room for error, when dealing with someone I don't know.

Again, Unhooking the HDD only helps if there is an existing windows partition on the HDD. But since he's deleting it, It won't matter.

Again...read my edit.

If you wanna be a Windows instructor, then make a topic like that.

Having ppl who are new at things, doing stuff the way someone who isn't new, does them...just creates problems.

Having people who are new to things, Do added steps that are completely useless in his situation, Just creates opportunity for problems.

The fuck is that supposed to mean?

I'm still unsure how you think your 5 step method is easier than a single step install for his needs.

Ok, I'll make it SIMPLE for you...

Put the SSD in the comp, unhook the HDD. Install Windows to the SSD.
Hook the HDD back up and format or Wipe it.

Even new ppl understand...can't figure out why you don't.

If you are having a bad day...go to General Chat. :/
