I own 6 muskin drives and zero failures.
The first samsung drive i got was faulty.

It's hit and miss so long as its a reputable brand your usually safe.
Mushkins RMA department is one of the best I've had to deal with.

Mind you that was 5 years ago or more that I dealt with them.

Is there a noticeable performance between the Samsung one and the Mushkin one? At least anything noticeable for the average person?

no.

the evo does offer a ram drive option to boost it but it uses up a large portion of ram to do so.

I see, only reason I'm a little skeptical is because when I put this PC together years ago I used 2 Mushkin sticks of RAM and one arrived RMA :(

Nope, even if there was we are talking like few second difference.
You definitely notice the difference from hdd to ssd. But not so much ssd to ssd in reality

DOA can happen to good products too, it's matter of how the company can handle the rma process

Thanks. Considering just trying the Mushkin one, I guess the extra couple 200gb or whatever wouldn't hurt for a little bit of extra money.

Budget is a LITTLE bit of a problem for me atm, so I'm kinda leaning on whatever's cheaper / pro's and cons.
But these black friday deals are hard to pass up.

Thanks for your help guys.
I went with the Mushkin drive. Hopefully everything arrives okay, I figured I'd get the 480GB as opposed to 250GB for a few extra dollars. It should give me some more breathing room in the future.
I also bought the bracket so the drive will fit in my computer for $4.

Original OP question, Is the installation process easy and will I have to re-install Windows 10 (enter in a new key because I have OEM not retail)?, or is there a way I can transfer it over to the SSD then wipe the HDD and use SSD for OS and some games, but also use the HDD for other storage things?
