Yeah, I'm betting it's the power supply that is you problem.

Before that thing dies, and possibly takes a few other components with it...

Get a new one...like this:

Just to be on the safe side...get this too...

Or best of all...do this...

Well, I can't afford all of that any time soon really, but when you say "on the safe side" is that just in case the power supply wasn't the problem and it was the MB afterall, or do you just think getting a new MB is something that I need to do regardless?

Buying the power supply should be doable, it's just adding in the MB is where I just don't have the money anymore, and can't get it any time remotely soon even honestly. Also is the RAM a major performance boost that I should look into the future?

Like I'll try to get all three things if it ends up being possible, but like I said, that's only doable many months down the road more or less.

Anyway thanks for the regular help man, you're a lifesaver honestly.

Also the power supply you listed is 650w when what I had was 750w, so when I had my pc put together originally does this mean I used the wrong one? Just trying to understand why the sudden change in watts.

Yes to the motherboard question...you SHOULD switch to an Intel/ Nvidia build, but short of that...

Get a new power supply before the one you have catches fire. Yeah, the motherboard you have is probably OK..just giving you a link for a replacement.

Trust me the one I linked gives 650...MINIMUM. I doubt the one you have can give 650W on a good day...let alone all the time. ^^

Your PSU = really bad PSU. Don't delay get a better one ASAP.

I see. If 750W and 650W version of this PSU that you listed cost the same, you still recommend the 650W then? Both are $100, same price.

The EVGA power supplies to get are the ones with G2 or GS in their model numbers. Stay AWAY from NEX, even when made by EVGA.

/e Honestly you could run your computer on a 550W G2 or GS model sold by EVGA.

Well, I compared these, because I got free shipping on Amazon, they are the same one except amazon is 750 right? But if you say I don't need 750 I believe you XD I was just checking to see if there's no downside to get higher watts, since it's effectively $2 more only. Also for some reason the 750 had 10 year warranty, and the 650 had 7 year, but that's not a big difference... what are the chances I use this thing in 7 years anyway.

His house has power issues. Check the mobo for capacitors that are expanded or busted.
If none are, you should get he 550w psu so that if a surge occurs you don't have enough headroom on the psu to cause your mobo to break.

If you go 550w and have a surge, psu SHOULD go first and prevent the mobo from being destroyed.

If you go 650w and have a surge, psu wouldn't protect the mobo as it would let in more power.

I mean
Hopefully that's how it works. Lol

A good PSU will block a surge from getting to your components.
Ofc, some surges, nothing will stop. But then you have more things to worry about than your computer. :)
