When you get home...check in the BIOS for the CPU fan speed control...disable them on both motherboards.
Disabled, means the CPU fan runs at 100%.

Do I want the fan running 100% 24/7? though?

or this is just for testing purpose?

I will def look into it when i get home in the morning and post my spec

Testing purposes...but with the stock Intel fan...all the time might be a good idea.

/e IF you bought both CPUs ...new...they shouldn't have temps, that different. So something must be different or the CPUs maybe weren't purchased...new?

worst case scenario I will pick this up, so bulky though.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005O65JXI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I just dont understand what the problem is after checking mount and paste twice.

but ill post up in the morn

cpus both new. :(

Make sure that will fit in your case. That cooler is 160mm tall.

If both CPUs are new, I would think they would be closer together in temps.
You can check with CPU-Z and see if they are the same stepping.

either way there is an issue correct?

idle temps are higher than anything ive built recently.

I told you all the possible reasons...

CPU fan setting in BIOS
CPU voltage in BIOS (not common)
Thermal compound
CPU stepping/revision

/e Intel stock coolers...suck...so whether the temps are too high or not...could be the stock cooler or the ambient room temp.

ill take a look at all those soon.

ah ok, maybe just better off getting an after market cooler then, although i dont want to and want to igure out what the problem is.
I know the stock coolers suck but ive used many before with no issues on non oc'd

Another thing I can think of...

Use CPU-Z, mainboard tab, to see if both motherboards have the same BIOS version.
