Sandy bridge aka 2nd generation doesn't support over 32GB ram.
Did you upgrade the laptop with RAM yourself?
Else check your receipt. Specs might be on that, specially if you bought it online.

Again why do you have the need for above 16gb of RAM?

And you probably wouldn't have been able to use the old RAM if your new laptop. I guess you a looking at skylake 6000series. It needs lower voltage for DDR4 ram. You have DDR3 ram.

Dude, look at his Speccy screenshot. It says 16GB dual channel. The ONLY way it can say that is if he has 2x 8GB sticks in there.

OP said laptop had 64GB of RAM. That would mean he'd have to have 4x16GB sticks.

So if Speccy shows 16GB dual channel, he has to either have 4x4 or 2x8...either way...he's not "missing" any.
