I never got to expirence that. Started my PC master race in 2003, I then went out and bought diablo2 classic + LoD and warcraft 3 + frozen throne. My only hard copies until diablo3. That's the only 5 hard copies I own.
I joined steam in late 2004 around the time half life 2 got released.
I had a floppy drive in my first PC. Sadly never got to use it. And I haven't been needing a dvd drive for the past 2.5 years.
