Ugh that would be true if you hold shit in a box and see that it's DOA.. XD

Most things have decent time warranties, though, don't they?

The difference is this:

Let's say you order from Newegg.com, THEY have a no questions 30 day return policy and they do it fast.
Now lets compare that to an RMA to the manufacturer...which will take 2-3 weeks, if you're lucky.

If you can't afford everything at once...the best solution I've found is get the vid card as one purchase, and the rest of the computer as another purchase.
You can use the vid card, while you wait to save money for the rest of the comp.

That way, if the vid card cam from like Newegg and it's DOA, then you can just send back to Newegg and get another. Same is true for when you buy the "rest of the comp". If any part is DOA, then it's a quick no questions return.

I call it the half and half upgrade. :)

Or you can not be poor, save your burger flipping paycheck for 2 more weeks, and buy everything at once.

Lol, I could buy whatever I wanted right now. Being smart on buying does not make one poor.

Fortunately I did not start off where you did, "burger flipping". You must be a proud manager of a McDonalds or something. lol

Totally same thoughts man

Having to have everything RIGHT NOW always cost way more money than having a little patience.
I bought all my parts over 2 weeks around July 4th and ended up saving about $175 by being patient and getting the best deals on all my parts.

People with money don't keep that money by being dumb and wasteful.

It was a general statement hence why no one was quoted. Your ego must of been bruised if you took the time to think I was actually talking about you.

If you like what you want and you want it, then cost is not an issue. This is the difference between people with money and people without. People without tend to scrimp, save, and question the cost of every item while people with money buy what they want because they want it and not have to worry about cost. Also $175 is just over half a days work, so that helps a bit.

thats not bad at all, but remember the time spent on shopping longer is still time spent, time=money, I dont know what you value you time at even though its freetime or not

lets say you spent 2 extra hours of freetime etc on shopping I know you didnt but still 175- that time is the real savings

To be fair, I also had quite a bit of free time at work to shop for those deals haha.

Well, I am not wealthy or anything by that means but I usually follow simple rule when buying things.

Do I want it? Yes. Do I need it? No. Don't buy it.
