I'm really new in these stuff so I barely know anything about overclocking, all I did was follow youtube videos.

If you don't overclock, does it throttle? Does your voltage drop under load?

Usually when I do not overclock, it stays @ 1400 MHZ ish when i'm on desktop, but when I start launching game is when my CPU freqs increase.

I'm not quite sure where the VRM is usually located, I posted the whole pic.

There are 2-3 settings in the BIOS that will cause that drop in frequency to happen. That is normal. You need to check oput your motherboard manual (chapter 3 usually) for "which" BIOS settings are responsible for the drop in frequency.

That's why I linked the overclocking the bulldozer/piledriver on an ASUS motherboard for you, up above.

/e Turbo will cause that.
Cool n' Quiet will cause that
...and there is one or two others.

It's under "sensors"

Post while performing a stress test.

Yeah, but my C&Q is turned off, so is the Turbo.

ALL the temps in AIDA64 are under the OSD settings...

May vary slightly as per motherboard, but my mobo is ASUS as well....so...

/e Post #13 above is where the throttling issue lies.

Disable
AMD Turbo Core Technology
APM (Application Power Management)
Cool ‘n’ Quiet
CPU Thermal Throttle *be careful keep an eye on your temps, especially core temps, leave this enabled if your not the cautious type*
Core C6 State
C1E
Enhanced Halt State
Any other Power Saving Features in your bios, usually under CPU Advanced, Google them first.

What's your CPU core temp when running either Prime 95 or the AIDA64 stability test?

What's your CPU voltage at?

/e Max. CPU core temp for an 8320 is 62C, .... max. CPU package temp is 72C.

/ee Here was mine at 4.6Ghz (just a quickie OC )

AI Overclock Tuner - Manual
Turbo - Disabled
CPU/NB Freq. - 2200Mhz
HT Link Speed - 2600Mhz

CPU LLC _ Ultra High (75%)
CPU/NB LLC - Auto

CPU Current Capability - 130%
CPU/NB Current Capability - 130%
DRAM Current Capability - 130%

Cool n' Quiet - Disabled
C1E - Disabled
SVM - Disabled
Core C6 State - Disabled

HPC Mode - Disabled
Amp Master Mode - Disabled

CPU Spread Spectrum - Disabled
PCIe Spread Spectrum - Disabled
EPU Power Saving - Disabled

NB Voltage - 1.9v (may lower this a tad)
