Are you etching/milling your own PCBs?

Sounds like a fun project, I'm currently working out some derivative SSTC setups.

I always get distracted in the middle of something though.

I have a laser printer and a few brand new toner cartridges I picked up for work for when I need to etch my own PCB, but I will be paying a company to print out a batch for me for this project. I may make a few sets via etching just to prototype PCB layout and such, but end product will be out sourced to a company.

I have quite a few people wanting these made and are willing to pay for parts + labor so I might as well make them look nice. I am also working with a few people on IRC who I have been consulting with because I'm still pretty new to all this. It's easy enough to program these AVR chips in C/Assembler, but I don't know my way around any PCB design studios. Also have a few people who I will send batches out to for beta testing.

I got N64 controller emulation down pretty good. The protocol for its bi-directional data line is pretty easy, but unfortunately since it is clocked so fast I had to program it in assembler just so I can properly time it. GCC was optimizing the code and throwing off the delays causing it to work wonky if at all.

I'm also going to a PCB fabricator for a small batch of boards. I was thinking of http://imall.iteadstudio.com/open-pcb.html or www.oshpark.com not sure yet.

Yea I've heard about oshpark, haven't seen the other one before. I'm no were near close enough to try to be looking for a fabricator so I haven't looked much. If you find a decent one let me know!

Apparently the last thread was to spammy so here is a new thread to document how I am better then you all.

To further expand, here I am trying to tune to a local radio station to test it. Turns out after I dissected the stock antenna that it's pretty much a piece of copper wire attached to a MCX adapter. Before I go play with this thing I am going to have to buy a BNC to MCX adapter so I can use one of my better scanner antennas.

Some things I will post about using this hardware is how to decode and read pager messages on the 900mhz~ range, how to track airplanes via their radio beacons, and how to listen/decode police transmissions via using UNITrunker to decode trunk channels and DSD to decode digital speech.

Think Ghot missed me more then anyone on this forum which is quite creepy. He was the first to pm me and shit.

Anyways going through my 7 desktop towers to scrape for parts before i recycle them. so far pulled out 3x 512mb ddr ram, 2x cd r/w, 1x dvd r/w, 2x wifi cards, 2x NICs, and 2x IDE harddrives (80GB). Still have 4 more to go through, fml.

Yeah, I missed all this techy talk...reminds of the old days :)
