not dead, they are broken, looked like you cracked something inside

any suggestions? should i open anything? it spread about an inch higher in the last few hours as opposed to the 3 inches it initially was. can this be fixed manually and will a service repair be able to do anything

ok, for further information, the line went up an inch last night and today when i turned it on, it is up the whole screen, if this says anything

Yeah that is definitely a crack then. Like Rockon said, time to buy a new monitor.

Not like that. That's a crack and it isn't going to go away. The lines reappearing and disappearing are usually lines of stuck (not dead) pixels. That isn't that.

well as i said when i turned it on in the morning it was a solid line, an hour or two later pixels on that line got back to normal, now they are only red again but a few a little higher up the screen have gotten back to normal. i still feel there is hope for this poor guy
