There is a "noob proof" guide in the stickies on the sub-forum.  It's old, but like the title says, it's noob proof.  I followed it when I put together my first PC, and it worked just fine on startup.

didnt see that sticky. ill go check it out. thanks. i really would like to learn to put together a desktop. would be a really neat experience, just afraid of damaging something.

my main concern is handling the CPU, Motherboard, and/or the GPU improperly and damaging one or all of them. They are expensive and fragile parts. If I do something on accident, there goes a bit of money and a sad sad day.

Thanks for the response. Ncix will put it together? i didnt see that on their website?

can't find it on their US website...well might as well put it together yourself

pc building is pretty dummy proof...the only way to mess something up is by forcing a part where it shouldn't go - and there's plenty of indicators to prevent that from happening. there's also a ton of guides online you can read/watch to prepare, but there really isn't much to prepare for lol

what about like putting thermal glue on the cpu or something? what if u put on too much glue or too little? do u always need the glue?
also what about static destroying a mobo or cpu with one touch? somewhat risky?

i always mess with my computer while i'm on a carpet , but i like to live dangerously. there's things you can do to ensure there want be any static though, eg occasionally discharge yourself by touching a piece of metal

you don't even have to think about thermal paste if you're not getting an aftermarket cooler. but if you are getting one, again, there are plenty of guides on that

Wear rubber sole shoes, and touch the case while building your P.C. I like to leave my P.S.U. plugged in the wall so that static would go through its ground into the socket.

For thermal paste, most coolers should be fine with the dot method; some coolers have different bases that would require different methods of applying paste. Do not lift the cooler once it has been placed onto the C.P.U. with paste to not get air bubbles caught.

they're not really great honestly.
they don't let you move freely and been comfortable is the key to success. since the first computer i ever put together ( without a static band , i never and will never use one , if the person that i'm putting it together for doesn't like it , they can go fuck themselves B) ) , i always tried to break my parts without acting like a jackass by using a hammer and i haven't failed once.
just make sure you're not around kids/animals and you have a good workspace.

The parts aren't as finicky as you think. Even some youtube tech's man-handle them.

Main thing you need to worry about is static, if it's still dry where you're at. As long as you are fairly careful in handling the parts then there should be no problem other than the possibility of DoA.
