loled @ some replies.

Anyway, to fix this you need to reset bios. Youll need to find the cmos battery inside the laptop and remove it for a while (30-40secs) untill it's clear - this will likely require pulling the whole laptop apart though

One idea may be to flash the bios if you can - might clear it aswell
another suggestion is to google the manual for your laptop brand and see what it says.

This is your answer. The battery is "probably" located next to the RAM sticks, so hopefully its as easy as removing a small plastic cap. However, HP loves to sometimes play little jokes on the public and place the important gear underneath circuit boards and you have to rip the whole assembly apart to get at it. I would look first at the RAM section, then maybe any other removable plastic cover. If you cant find it then, Google the exact name of the laptop followed by "battery". ie: HP pavilion 760n CMOS battery

You should get a hit for a pc support forum where your answer will be found. 99% of the time what you need to know about the pc isnt covered in the manual, because the makers would never get service calls that way.

I had the same problem once. but good thing i was doin a coop for a computer store so they showed me how to do it for my pc im not sure if it is same for your but on the mother bored itself their was a code which was the override password. You could try taking out the battery for 5 -10 min and that may do the trick for you.
