It is one of two things...

Your cpu is not seated properly...bent pin...etc

or you dont have something correctly plugged in.

Post a picture of your mobo.

I will when I get back home. thnx nupper
Yeah, my last build was a pentium 133Mhz back in 1996

well it can obviously be something other than those two things... but those are what I would first check out.

also u plugged in a pcie into the cpu thats why it restarts
that or you didnt plug in the cpu fan into the header that it goes to and if it cant recognize it it will auto shutdown to prevent it blowing up

Hmm.... I'll have to check on that CPU plug. I'm assuming it should say CPU on the PS cable.

Now the cable coming from the H80 cooler is split: 1 4x molex for power and a 3x pin female for fan. I plugged this into a spot on my MB that is a 4 prong that says 'CPU FAN'. The fans for the H80 come on and the thing illuminates and lets me manually vary the speeds--I assumed it was correct. There is a key on the 4prong cpu slot on the MB that I assumed was to make it work for the 3 prongers. Nothing in the Manual said anything about it.

As for the the Fan Header, I have nothing plugged into that. I simply populated Fan Plugs 1-3 and the CPU Fan. I didn't exactly know wth should have been plugged into that so I used the other slots (I honestly thought it was for those external displays I read about on your case that show the temps & adjustments).

I don't think you can physically do that, they are shaped differently to prevent this type of thing from happening.

Well, I found the solution. When I removed my H80 Chip cooler to check the seating of my chip, I noticed none of my goo was spread and it was in a straight line still and hadn't spread. It turns out that on of my water tubes was resting on a MB capacitor and when tightening it--it never allowed it to touch the chip

When rotating the H80 and retightening, the chip was cooled, the automatic High Temp shutoff mechanism on the MB didn't activate, and I'm now inside my BIOS enjoying a 25C temp and not having any issues.

Thanks for the advice and am sharing my solution in case it helps anyone in the future having a similar issue :)

This. Also, sounded like an overheating issue from the start.
