The Windows Experience Scores only give you a general idea of their performance. I'm not sure about Windows Vista as I run 7. But with that card I'm in the 7.2 range I believe.

And keep checking this thread as someone will probably jump in soon and tell me that I'm wrong and you should go with something else. :P

one of my guild friends just suggested that I get rid of 32 bit windows, and go for 64bit windows since my cpu is 64bit, would that also help things or does it even matter for the video card? basically when I add the video card will it even matter if I go to 64bit since the card will increase my performance so much anyway should I even bother?

I would get rid of Vista and get Windows 7 64bit. Vista is a performance killer itself.

I had to contact the computer maker for a recovery disk, because I put win7 ultimate ( 32bit ) and it said it wasn't genuine, and I had no other disk.. so I had to get a recovery disk, and it was windows vista home premium.. nothing I can do about it
if I go to win 7 64 bit, I have to buy a whole brand new one right? from what I understand it's like $300.00 there is no way I could do that :( I'm stuck with win vista I'm afraid, so I think the video card will be my only upgrade I'll be doing
I like your suggestion, but I will wait to see if anyone posts some other style of video card before making a 100% decision :)

Was this a genuine version of Win7? If you had a genuine key and it just wouldn't activate, you sometimes have to call in the activation. Especially if that key had been registered on another computer at one point.

Win7 64 Home Premium or Pro Upgrade is all you need. You can do a fresh install from the upgrade. Not too sure why they did that but they did. I bought mine Win7 Pro for $40 on a student deal that was available at the time. Just glad my little brother was in college at the time. :P

I don't think it's legal to talk about here but i'll take a chance, no it wasn't genuine, I had a pirated copy of windows 7 ultimate on a dvd disk, I installed it, it worked fine for 3 days, then came up not genuine, the key was blocked
so I called the computer maker, got the recovery disk ( had to pay 50.00 for it ) and now I have genuine windows vista home premium 32 bit... and I very seriously doubt I can get win7 64bit for 40.00 LOL that would be impossible

Ahh.. Gotcha.

On another note, you can use the same cdkey and install Vista Home Premium 64bit. The key is valid for both. Same with Win7.
