Exactly my point. O/C phenom 955 comes close to a stock core i7.

roommates never turn AC below 80, so as a baseline, most of the house is generally between 80-90F

then my room is probably +5*

then i have my little micro-atx PC im running in my p182

my tv

surround sound

3 wifi box's

modem

2 surge protectors, 2 power strips, mostly full, several good sized power supplys, 5 speakers, sub, laptop, xbox 360

Maybe Ice's Mumbo Jumbo about how the i7 is only better in rendering, etc, will stop and he will stop preaching lies.

Well done Eek. =)

Very nice benchmarks.

Its funny how HT actually makes a difference on some things, but then you see in L4D it didn't matter, infact somehow hindered performance.

IS VN1 comparison, most games the i7 wins in, not overly surprised... seeing how much better it is in things that are CPU intensive and programmed to utilize all cores is kind of eye opening for what future gaming would look like where a game can utilize 4 cores and you pit an i7 and a PII.

Also, for me as an HD4670 its nice to see the card pull off playable framerates with such high settings on L4D, and that I was correct about my CPU being the bottleneck at this point.

This has given me a lot to think about.

First intelligent response. Thank you.

I'm actually surprised too, people at other tech forums have told me HT hinders gaming performance and i didn't quite believe it at first, so i had to test for myself. Well it obviously did but it didn't matter as much as it did compared to other people's benchmarks. My clocks probably helped. But nonetheless, a $475 rig is still pretty damn powerful. I'm also surprised how a 2 year old Quad is still holding up to the current gen parts :).
