I have 1060 3gb righrt now that only sucks 100 watts during gaming
if I get a 3060ti and it starts sucking 200 watts is it going to heat up my room by alot more? although im looking at gpu temps and the 3060 also runs at 60-70 same as my 1060

Probably not more than the 1060.

I would imagine it has better cooling.
It might heat up your case a bit more.

The vid cards that were known for heating up the room, were the single fan Founders Edition cards.
They exhausted ALL the heat out the back.

The regular vid cards, exhaust heat all over the place, but not that much makes it out the back of the computer.

I have a setup where all of my machines (editor, gaming, work, servers) are in a spare closet, and I have a mix of really long hard wires and wireless peripheral connections. This way my office never gets hot, but it did take some effort to set this up, especially the hard wires.

Ghot just ended thermodynamics. more energy is more heat, cooling is heat dissipation, into the case which is in the room.

All of the power your PC is drawing from the wall ends up in your room.

Totally understand what your saying, fortunately and unfortunately they both produce the same amount of heat on average, so its not going to affect your room Temp.

The Reasoning is due to the newer card having better heat thermal pads, and air flow causing it to be less heated which would radiate less heat, how ever because there is more watts, it averages the same heat as the 1060.
