Anyone ever done any testing on filtered fan vs unfiltered fan temps?
I know the filter blocks a small amount of air flow but I also know it keeps the clog out.

Kind of depends on the TYPE of filter. Some of the "foam" filters can make a difference.
The filters that look like screen doors with teeny holes, don't affect the temps too much at all.

I guess this though I've never really seen people use thick foam filters.

If it's clean it shouldn't matter.

I dont think the filter itself will effect anything, but the vents to the fans/filter will, some cases have bad airflow of this

Asking this because the case I picked up isn't really conventional for todays standards.
1 fan in the front
1 fan in the top
1 fan in the rear
Option for 2 fans on the side panel

Most of the ones I see today are 2-3 in front and 2 up top with 1 rear.

Im testing out one of those X99 Chinese motherboards that popped up recently to see if its any good
Basically im planning on running the top fan and top side panel fan as an exhaust while running a 120mm water cooler as an intake on the rear so the two fans next to it pull the hot air out.
The bottom side panel fan and front fan will operate as intake for the SSD and video card

I have 3 filters in 3 completely different places at this point - 1 Rear / 1 Side / 1 Front
