So I just bought the asus vivobook s15 s530fa. In description it says it supports a 1 tb ssd in the second spot for storage. but as long as it physically fits do you think it still is limited? doesnt make any sense for storage?

Agreed. And I don't see how it could matter. Maybe a heat issue?? Seek on 2TB is hotter??

/e There's a tiny "need Help? blob in the lower right corner on that page.

/ee Maybe 1TB is all the bigger they will SELL you... and that's what they mean. Remember all ASUS info is translated.

yea on phone now... says 2 tb hdd or 5125 gb ssd... thats shitty for 512 gb only?

has a 8gb ddr4 2400 mhz. just need 1 more 8 gb ram stick too. prob go with crucial ram stick

any suggestion for the 512 gb ssd? 2.5 in just using for school work in graduate program. samsung 860 pro vs 860 evo? big price difference, nearly double the price...

cheap 8gb ram stick?

yea i think its just because the 512gb ssd is the largest ssd option that they sell prebuilt into the laptop....

I believe ram can be limited due to the motherboard. but if it can handle a 2tb hdd, then it should handle a 2 tb ssd as well right?
i really don't want to risk this. but i dont see any reason why it can't handle a larger ssd than what they claim.... have you ever heard of a limit on storage size? should i risk it and buy the larger one...?

Looking at the samsung 860 evo 1 tb ssd....

Also do i really need to unplug laptop battery when adding ssd and ram stick...?
