wireless is from "access points" not routers.

get an edgerouter, they are an actual router with no stupid wifi crap.

memeing aside that will do what it says so I'm sure it's fine for you

I'm living in a small apartment so I really don't need much range at all I found this for 70
https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-R6700-Nighthawk-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00R2AZLD2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542274627&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=ac1750&psc=1 not sure if it's overkill or not though

No. Routers don't have wifi as I posted. Only access points do.
If you're not moving and will be in your small apartment you can get that router/AP hybrid you posted in OP and it'll be fine. AC is for faster wifi which I doubt you care about on phones /firesticks

No wonder this section is dead, you're worthless and un-help people if there's such a thing.

the one you posted is way more than enough speed wise, idk how good it's distance is but I doubt it's gonna be that bad honestly. They had these technologies 20 years ago and the price has just gone down to shit while performance has gone up.
Only reason the insanely expensive ones even have to exist is to fight your neighbors over who has better signal because they all interfere with each other and cancel each other out. It's truly a mess.

Yea, should work fine then just a tiny one bedroom apartment costing me 1600 a month as is. Don't think I'm getting a bigger place anytime soon!

Thanks again for both your help on choosing a hybrid for me!
