I just bought a computer that is set up with everything I need for high speed gaming and hours upon hours of fun. The issue that I have is that my internet is absolutley terrible and the only ethernet port is at my dads desk where he works. There are no ports near my computer.

The router is probably about 20 feet away, but even on my laptop standing right next to it I got 6mbdownload less than 1mb upload.

On my new computer I am getting 1mb download and like .20 upload. This is absolutely sad guys. My whole computer will be completely pointless if I can't get faster internet to my computer.

I live in a building where apparently they control the internet for everyone so I don't know if I can just call Verizon and get them to raise my internet speed. I need to figure ut away to boost my speed with the help of you guys.

This is so sad. I connected to my phones hotspot for a minute and got 9mbs download. Like my wifi is worse than my phone.

Please help me figure this out guys, what can I do? I want to play games :(

Have you tried speed test over wired to rule out just a shitty router?

No I haven't, if I can find an ethernet cable I would try it, but my macbook has no ethernet port lol. and I can't move the computer all the way to the ethernet port.

I may go with the powerline adapter.

I got it today. It says with windows 10 it should start working automatically.Yet I am still getting the same shitty 1-3mbps. It is driving me nuts. On my laptop in the same place I get 14mbps which still is not very good but it's at least better.

Is there something I can do with this product to actually make it work? Do I have a defective product? I am new to windows 10 and don't really know what I am doing but it says on amazon that with windows 10 it should be connect and you're good to go.

Help would be appreciated! I want to game!
