https://wccftech.com/intel-9th-gen-core-cpus-specs-confirmed-core-i9-9900k-8-core-soldered-ihs/

So at least we don't need to delidded the 9900k and 9700k.
Well they have to do something! Because it's 14nm+++++ (since Broadwell)

I'm 99% sure I'm getting an i9-9900k, the 8core/16thread should be just about sufficient for my workload needs, while keeping the highest possible IPC and clock speed for gaming.
Still I feel bucked fucked by Intel, delaying 10nm and just doing refresh on refresh.
It's honestly not worth "upgrading" if you have anything from Intel gen.4 or Ryzen (in my case I've already sold my current main gaming system)

havent looked into this.. u know if they run on 300 chipsets or require new? and will the i9 have its own

The i9-9900k, will just be the replacement of i7 in the top of consumer CPUs. It will run on same chips with the rest of the line-up.

It will be compatible with the previous 300 series chipset through a BIOS update. An i9-9900k can even run on an H310, Asrock leaked this by a mistake 20 days ago

There will probably be a i9-9900x in the enthusiasts next year. Gonna be quite confusing soon.
Already is with AMD stealing the chipset naming scheme :D
B150, B250 and B350 is for intel. B450 is for AMD.

OMG that's true B350 is AMD, while B360 is Intel. Man this is already confusing... Now i gotta look at the socket type as well :D

It's probably going to be ~450$

I'll believe it when I see it tbh. Although if they intend to push high clocks at 8/16 there better be goddamn solder.

Never done it on my own CPU's before. I did it for a friend tho.
These guys live on delideding and test overclocking: https://siliconlottery.com/collections/coffeelake

If they used the same TIM on the 9900k I would have delidded it.
