So I've really been considering getting a Mac for quite a while, because I want something that's going to last for a while, as well as not bog down as many of my old Windows laptops have done. Nothing against PC's, as I still love my desktop, I just think a Macbook Pro would be more suitable for college.

The thing is, I can't shell out ~$1,300+ at once, so I'd need to be able to finance with no interest (preferably). After a lot of research, I'm leaning more towards a 2015 version. What I'm having trouble with is finding a good deal somewhere where I can sign up for a card and just finance it through. I know Apple has their Barclay Vista card, but it didn't seem like Apple had any 2015's, only newer models with the touch bar which does nothing for me.

If anyone has any good deals, or even other options in mind, I'm all ears. Just looking for opinions and a little help possibly finding one. I did search Amazon some, but makes me a little wary as I've known someone who's gotten a laptop off there before through a 3rd party seller and it wasn't in the greatest shape.

I wouldn't be doing anything too intensive. Some coding, internet browsing, netflix, email. Just want something that's going to last and stay consistent in it's performance.

Any help is appreciated, TIA.

Ask your parents/family to assist you, everything going to be like 20% interest.

It's not really an option for me, that's why I was looking to go the finance route. But if nothing else, I will just end up saving up and getting one if I can't find one available with a company where I can find a decent card with no interest for at least 12 mths.

dont expect a macbook to last longer then other laptops, basicly everyone i know including myself owned a mac book at some point, and i have never seen one that dident go to repair within 1 year of purchase, i seen problems with power plugin, battery, cpu/mobo, display/graphic card and driver

sure they are decent products but they do not last very long without having to go to repair shop at some point, and i think a 2015 model will soon be way outdated as they are allready 1 generation behind in hardware, as u may know the newest macbooks atm runs intels 7th gen cpus

so my advice is buy a pc laptop and MAKE SURE it has intels 8th gen CPU, this will give u the best preformance and battery life u can get in a laptop atm, and because of that it may last u longer aswell =)

macOS is a shitty operating system. You are definitely not paying for the OS and are only overpaying for hardware. Sure it's really quick and quiet and whatever, but unless you really need the specs, I'd recommend to go for something less expensive. The uses you describe it for definitely don't justify needing one.

I'm currently using my first macbook pro (been 5-6 months of every day use), and I encounter weird bugs all the time and am thoroughly unimpressed all-around. I'm a software engineer that is used to Linux (my hard drive on that laptop was having issues, which is why I switched) and I am very soon switching back to my other laptop as my main.

You definitely wont' need it for college and don't buy it as a status symbol; particularly if you can't really afford it like you said. From previous positive experience, I would recommend a Dell laptop.
