OP, you need to ask Abduct about this. If you can't find a replacement BIOS chip that is.

BIOS chips are re-programmable, assuming you can read the code in the BIOS chip. (probably... Assembly)

Abduct isn't going to teach him how to dump an ic or reverse engineer it.

A BIOS chip is just an eprom. They have many tools to "dump" them.
All Abduct would have to do is show him which line, value, w/e, in the Assembly code has to be changed to remove the BIOS password.

So the generic idiot can't get into the BIOS and mess things up, while the device is still under warranty.
If said laptop is no longer under warranty, ACER will probably just send you a BIOS chip, or just tell you how to reset the password. After the warranty runs out, they probably don't care if you access the BIOS.

/e Hell, the BIOS chip may not BE soldered in at all. It may be in a socket like on ASUS motherboards, for example.

Iirc Abduct knows Assembly.
