So, my network card on my mother's computer is on the fritz and I want to solve the solution seig heil.

I have an option of moving my router 5ft and getting a 50ft ethernet cable, which would put the router basically on my doorway.

or getting a 100ft cable and having 30-40ft left over.

We have a 100mbit line with 3 upload

Will a 100ft cable shit on her performance

The 100ft cable is $9.99 (Cat6)

The 50ft cable is $6.99 (Cat6)

The Question: at these ranges- will doubling the length even matter when the cable is this long(Performance-wise)?

nope, speed of light > cable length (unless it's over thousands of miles long) you'll not notice any lag/performance degradation

ty, have nice day

Monoprice is cheaper: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10232&cs_id=1023204&p_id=13301&seq=1&format=2

Edit: Actually, if you have Prime, the Amazon one is cheaper when shipping costs are included.

Cat 6 is copper. It's not fiber, not that it matters at 100ft.

And so you get some education out of this high speed drops to dial up conditions after 16k of cable length at 22 gauge, if it will work at all. Most of the time it fly's to shit at 8 km due to coppers shit ability to keep its condition in weather.
