I got a dell xps 9560 top of the line for my job, but am tired of using a 27 inch 1080p monitor with it.

I do a lot of SQL work and Pentaho so a nice screen space would be nice as I do a lot of multitasking and often have 2-3 things I need to view at once. IPS panel is nice cause my wife may also use the monitor sometimes for her graphic design. It won't be used for any intensive gaming (have a desktop for that).

I've looked at a couple 4k curved 32-34" IPS monitors but wanted to know if anyone has actually had experience using one and recommendations.

What are you bought and what monitors you been looking at?

Are you referring to the WQHD widescreen monitors? Or UHD/4k(ish) monitors?

If price is not an issue I would look at Dell ultrasharp.

I haven't bought anything yet and I'm not sure which I would want. I'm fairly certain I want UWQHD. I've been looking at some Dell ultrasharp u3415w, Samsung C34F791, and Acer XR342CK

Well then you are not looking into 4k monitors. Just 1440p ultrawide/UWQHD.
My money would go towards the Dell U3415W

Haha ah gotcha. Do you know of any real 4k monitors that are also wide in the 32-34" area. Or will these 1440p monitors be fine with my 4k laptop screen? The windows scaling has been the most annoying part of my 1080p monitors which is why I want a monitor where I wont have to deal with that bad of scaling when moving things between the two. Yeah I think the Dell has been my top choice so far. Thanks!

Well won't be as horrible as 1080p. But it's is just an QHD 1440p monitor.

to clear up
3440x1440p is just a widescreen QHD
5160x2160 would be widescreen UHD (4k) None of these on the market yet.

I would recommend a common 4k monitor for your usage 3820 x 2160 31.5-32". Would match the resolution on your laptop at least.

Well that's unfortunate they have no true 4k widescreen yet. Do you have a 3820 x 2160 you could recommend?

can get 2x 4k monitors with super thin bezel, wall mount or something to make them super close. sorta workaround, not really though. but super expensive also

also have you ever used a 4k monitor before? it does make several things smaller in size. depends what u prefer and plan to use it for, but just a wide 1440p monitor might be good enough.

No I never have. But right now I use 1920x1080 monitors and dragging windows between the two is super annoying and it makes the windows huge on the external monitors. That's one large reason I want a 4k monitor is just so the windows don't need to constantly be resized and what not. I'll probably ultimately end up going with a wide 1440p but idk.
