Because adapters seem to not be as much reliable to hold constant hertz.
Lot of em are chinese gimmicks.
Some cost like 1/3 or even 1/2 of a screen.

I linked you a $18 active adapter that would have been more than enough.

30$ is fucking expensive.
it was marked down to 18$ which is about average locally.
