Probably wrong place but whatever.

My gf is coming here from Europe and all of her shit (phone, hair dryer) runs at 240 volts on average.

That's like a refridgerator here in the US. Most of our outlets are 120v right?

She is going to a shop to get a converter plug thing so she can charge her phone here. What does she ask for? Is this possible? Do I need to buy her a phone and put viber credits on it?

i mean i didnt realize 120v and 240v were even adaptable

NOTE: This charger does NOT CONVERT electrical output current and voltage. Please lock the plug before plugging to the outlet.
This charger adapter plug converts the power outlet only, Please don't use it with any high power appliances such as hair dryer, straightener and water heater. Please make sure your device carries a electrical converter when you travel to other countries with different electrical output.

So.. it will work or won't?

The device will pulls as much power as it needs from outlet.
Only issue is if the device itself requires more then 120v.

Shes better off buying a new hair dryer, a worthwhile adapter is going to cost you $30-60 and may not work long even so

For phones, laptops, etc almost all of those products say on the cord what they can handle and 99% of them are good for 100-240v at 50-60hz and all you need is an outlet adapter

This.

Everyone else in this thread is dumb.

Also no, your fridge doesn't run on 240v. Your range, and dryer probably do though. Doubt you will pull them out and plug your hair dryer into them though if you even find an adapter for the receptacles (most are usually 3 or 4 wire receptacles).
