so im considering getting a 65 in tv, the samsung ks8000. the dresser i have is nearly the perfect height.

i do not want to wall mount the TV. the dresser is around 29inch long. but the tv has 2 stands that are like its feet. the two stands are 39inch apart.
its very expensive to buy a new tv stand, and most tv stands are not high enough off the ground.
so what do you guys suggest? think something like a long and 2 inch thick piece of wood with like 4 clamps to hold the wood into the dresser can work? just to extend the length so the TV can rest on the dresser?

This seems very risky and possibly stupid. so just seeing what else might be suggested. this is a big purchase so id rather be on the safe side. and i am considering some tall tv mounts like this:

id prefer to just get the wood and clamps, that would be cheapest. and i dont want to spend more than $100 on a stand. the stand i posted is around $165 and too expensive

edit: found this for a bit cheaper, but looks a bit like it might not be too sturdy for a 65in

well, i think these carts with locking casters are the best option, has any1 used one before? im quite worried about a 65 inch tv on one of these.

only issue i can find is "Samsung TVs this size typically require screws with M6 or M8 threading. We are unable to find the exact size needed for your TV, so if the information is not in your manual, you may have to test fit a couple different sizes to figure out which ones will be needed."

" This stand will fit your TV, but for 2016 models from Samsung, you may need to find longer mounting screws than what is currently included."

Just get a piece of 1" thick plywood like 60" x (depth of dresser) and put on top of Dresser.

One screw (back center) thru plywood to top of dresser, gives you a pivoting place to set your 65" TV.

i cannot alter the dresser. its part of a furnished apartment. so im not able to drill into the dresser, but thats why i asked about clamps

why pine? cause its more sturdy? or just looks nicer?

also id assume i should at least use some clamps to hold the wood in place so the TV doesnt move

'cuz its cheap as fuck.

You can go with a hardwood/better wood if you want.. But it gets pricey.

Could just use a couple peices of mounting tape to keep it from sliding on the surface.

...double stick or double sided tape is strong enough. Just make sure you get 3M double stick/side tape.

You can get 60lb per square inch mounting tape.....

I made the mistake of using too much of it moutning a fir slab to my mini-fridge to put my PC on.... And ended up nearly killing myself removing it lol
