Has anyone here made the switch to Linux? If so, what distribution did you roll with and why?

I went with Ubuntu because I'm a total noob at Linux

Also -- I'm running it on an Asus RoG G20AJ

Specs are Core i5 4460 @ 3.2GHz, 8gb 1600MHz SODIMM RAM, 1tb HDD 7200rpm, and an NVidia GTX 750...

How well deos Linux work with SSDs? (Debating about upgrading my HDD)

Linux doesn't care what hardware you use.

I used Ubuntu for a while back in the day, all the commands typing into console like sudo mount and all just for putting in a cd/video was annoying as fuck, went back to windows.

But gotta say Ubuntu/Linux has its uses, nobody programs viruses for Linux and it runs very smooth and fast, so you shouldn't have a problem with viruses and spyware lol.

I do want to try out BackTrack though. .. .
