i have a Canon Pixma MG2522 and the ink does not last long at all. ive seen some ways to use a syringe and manually add ink to the cartridges but seems a bit sketchy.

i just need a shitty cheap printer, which i got. but wondering if theres another printer thats also cheap but has ink cartridges that last longer? the ink is what costs the most. with my printer, its cheaper to just buy a new printer than to buy new ink. cause the printer comes with color and black ink

edit: after looking more into bottles of ink to refill my cartridges, it doesnt seem too difficult. but i wonder if theres a limit to how many times you can refill an ink cartridge, if it may get worn out over time or something?

A dot matrix printer.
Yes they still make them and yes theres even colour ones.

Otherwise any printer with a ink drum and not a cartridge.

whats better about an ink drum? easier to refill?

also it seems like all laser printers use ink drums? so laser printers should have cheaper ink costs in the long run? although laser printers seem more expensive

You pay more upfront for either the printer to save in the long run
or
Later in expensive ink and/or special thermal paper.

The dot matrix printers are still made for warehouses cause they like never fucking break.
Loud as all hell but they will run 24/7, 365.

dot matrix printer is way out of my budget lol. wow, just looked and the cheapest dot matrix printer is around $250....

ill look into laser printer, but those are also pretty expensive. cant find a laser printer under $50.

the printer i have now was on sale for $20. but ive printer only around 8 pages of schoolwork and its already lost around 25% black ink it seems. so i bet it can print a total of like around 30 pages.... which is shit in my opinion, when an ink cartridge costs around $15

If the printers under 250 chances are the inks going to cost you.
well under 300CAD so maybe you can get a decent one at 200 USD.

I used something like this when I did production planning at a plastic recycling plant.

I printed probably 50-100 sheets a day (all black and white though).

They are right. Ink cartridges are designed to dry up.

holy shit please show me the link to the ink!? if i can get 18 refills for like 20 bucks thats amazing.

i am looking at this laser printer, https://www.amazon.com/Brother-HL-L2300D-Monochrome-Printer-Printing/dp/B00NQ1CLTI/ref=lp_172648_1_11?s=office-electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1488938505&sr=1-11

this is $70 but its the cheapest laser printer i can find. but id rather not get it, if i can find some super cheap ink refills like what rikuo said! would be awesome. i dont really print pictures ever and dont need colored ink. i mean its nice to have color ink in case i need it, but i will rarely use it.

edit: i looked on amazon and can only find cheap ink for other cannon printers, but not mine
