Man fuck that process. It took forever and was sketch as all hell.

Things I messed up that might cause me serious issues down the road:

- When applying liquid ultra, I was straight up guessing where the corresponding rectangle area was on the lid.
- When putting the lid back on the die (dye?), I nudged it and it turned slightly diagonal, likely smudging liquid ultra. I didn't check.
- It would not solidify, so I got some super glue at the recommendation of a video on the de-lid tool website. It was straight-up water, and I'm 99% sure I got some on the "pin" side of the processor.
-- Why am I so sure? Well, I saw it... I think. Also, my screen flickered a bit and shit was all over the place for a few seconds when I started x264. It's been running for a while now with no flickering... so I guess it'll survive. Not ideal, though.

All-in-all, I'd do it again, but holy shit it was not fun. Scratching the old glue off with my fingernail took forever.

Before de-lidding, I was seeing temps in the 80s when running x264... now:

The more you do it the easier it gets.
I would not personally of glued it back and if I did it would of been silicone not super glue.

The moving of the IHS slightly won't impact it i'm sure.
It's die, dye is for fabric.
Use acetone to remove the extra glue on the underside.

Yeah. I'd do it again, honestly. Live and learn.

I'll look into it if the flickering becomes frequent enough. I keep starting and stopping x264 because I thought the 0% -> 100% -> 0% usage was causing the issue, but I can't seem to get it to happen.

Just like 3 drops. One in a corner, one in the other corner across from that, and one drop at the bottom long side. Not much. Less than the guy in the video did, that's for sure.

honestly if your pins have glue on them i'd clean them now before it becomes an issue later.

20c drop. That's ridiculous, why would intel not use some better thermal paste on their K models?
Not like it would cost them alot. Glady play 2$ extra to overpay the additional cost.

soldering the chip costs a lot more actually when doing millions of chips.
better tim doesn't help a whole lot as its mostly the smaller gap that make the huge difference.

What about using the liquid ultra. It's not exactly soldering?
