Just started back using Plex.
Any cool dudes in here have a library they would not mind to share?
Just got unlimited bandwith, it feels so good.
Had 70gb data cap for 6years now lel

I got like 6TB on my Plex Media Server.
Sadly the CPU sucks. So won't be able to transcode more than 1x 1080p at a time.

Yea i might start to setup one slowly someday.
Dont have much disk space available atm anyways

Something like 3TB HDD is quite cheap tho bro

It can directplay on it. But I really doubt it can transcode. Maybe if you have ras pi 3

is it worth it to use ssds for media server or are the hds fast enough for 1080 quality movies?

You would gain nothing.
Even 4k is ideal on HDD's.
Bitrate on the most regular encodes is about 10Mbps for 1080p and about 40Mbps for 2160p.

A Regular HDD and read 800Mbps +. Depends on cluster size tho.
