Just something I recently noticed. What's the deal with this?
Also why am I getting "computer low on memory" when it's only at ~65%?

I have 8 GB RAM and this for virtual memory settings

Both (C:) and (A:) are SSD with the OS and most things on (C:)
Is virtual memory better on the SSD without OS installed?
Also curious does a virtual memory even matter on the HDD (B:) if it isn't used for anything?

Disable the page file on the HDD. Set a 2048/2048 page file on the NON-OS SSD.

Windows creates a temporary pagefile 16 GB every startup when no pagefile is set on C

Try setting the 2048/2048 on the A: drive first. Then choose: No Paging File for the C: drive.

What version of Windows?

There is no reason to eliminate the page file on current ssd's they usually die out long before right limit issues.
I would shrink it however.

Tried all these and still creates 16 GB on OS disk C
2048 @ A
4096 @ A
9000 @ A (maybe it wanted at least RAM+1 MB?)
2048 @ B

You should be able to set it on windows 10 and it remain that way.
It's either not saving changes or something else is reseting it.

Is probably a Windows 10 thing, then.

Ok, do this. Set the page file on C: to 2048/2048, then turn off the page file on all other drives.

Yeah it works with a pagefile on C of course.... but when switching it from none on C to one on A it creates a 16 GB on startup on C.
Just thought it'd be good to move it off the OS disk to spread the wear out?

keep it on the OS disk.
it will be fine, and the wear is insignificant.
