Hey guys :)

A while ago i bought a SSD, and with this came a little problem.

One of my other harddrives seem to be the one that's the intented win installing harddrive.
I had to actually remove the drives to be able to install on my ssd.

Now i had a friend who knew how to fix this, but we're currently not speaking together, due some stuff.

Does anyone know how to fix this, so i wont have to pull my 2 drives out, if i wanna do a clean install?
Is it simply just formating the drives? Or do i need to do something els? :)

Not entirely sure how to search it on google, so i thought it better just asking here.

Regards.
Angel.

Well, you don't mention if you are trying this on a laptop or desktop. Also, I'm assuming you mean Windows?

However, if it is a desktop, and you are trying to install Windows on a specific drive (in your case, an SSD)... unhooking the other drives in your computer is always a good idea.

The reason...doing so will allow you to see other issues, that may be preventing install on your SSD.
Like, the SSD may not be SEEN, by the computer. Or, you have another version of Windows on one of your hard drives...etc.

For these kinds of questions it's helpful to include info such as...

Laptop or desktop
What version of Windows
If there are any other versions of Windows on the hard drives

/e Or you can just post a Speccy screenshot, which will give us that info...

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download ...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

Well, the problem was actually that my computer couldn't see or detect the SSD, before i removed the other drives :)
My friend had a way to fix that, which is what i'm looking for. I hope you can help me :)

It's a desktop and here's a screenie.
And no other windows on any drives.

if its not visible in the bios its either broken or a bad connection
otehrwise in windows you need to asign it a drive letter and format it via disk managment

It became visible after i removed my other 2 drives.
This was during installation.

I actually tried taking out 1 hdd at a time, and then it did register the ssd at second try.
I tried changing the sata ports arround.

It just didnt wanna register the ssd.
It's something about that 1 hdd being the priority 1 hdd to install on, and if i don't, i have to disconnect it, to install on another one kinda thing.
Man i shoulda just taken my friends offer on fixing it when the problem first occured :p

Ok, do this...

Unhook the hard drives for now.
On the 2-5 pic below, set the Boot Option #1 to your Optical drive (DVD)
Set Boot Option #2 to your SSD.

In pic 2-6...

Set the OnChip SATA Type to AHCI
Set the OnChip SATA Port4/5 type to AHCI

Hit the F10 key to save & exit the BIOS

Install Windows on the SSD
Install the motherboard drivers (reboot when told to)
Do the Windows Updates (reboot when told to)

THEN...

Enter the BIOS again

On pic 2-5...

Set Boot Option #1 to your SSD.
Set Boot Option #2 to your Optical Drive (DVD)

Hit the F10 key to save & exit the BIOS

Now you can hook up your hard drives.

Thanks Ghot.
I will look into this, but i can't right now, as i woke up with the most horrible back pain ever :/ So i'm having a hard time move arround freely.

e/ i don't have a dvd drive btw :p

e2/ also, i think you're misunderstanding, i'm not looking to reinstall my windows right now.
It's more in case if something should go wrong, if i within the next few days decide to upgrade to windows 10 :)

Ok, well the short version is...

In the 2-6 pic where the 3 yellow dots are, they need to read (from top to bottom)...

Enabled
AHCI
AHCI

...that should solve 99% of the problems.

Best to just unhook the hard drives...install Windows on the SSD...then rehook the hard drives.

/e Almost forgot...in the 2-5 pic...Set Boot Option #1 to your SSD
