As for backwards compatibility, it is for devices only, the ports them self are not backwards compatible. AKA a USB 3.0 protocol can not run on USB 2.0 ports.
ok thanks. yea i see thats like new ports. hmmm whats the other end of the adapter plug into, the 20 pin? something on motherboard i assume lol
