ok thanks
wonder if its the same speeds as a legit usb 3.0?

and wonder how to hook it up? one end on motherboard? would it go outside the case?

also i dont know if thats backwards? because as far as i know, all usb 3.0 slots are backwards compatible... lol so there would be no reason to use that to make a 3.0 go to 2.0?

That adapter is not what you want.

You are going to want something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Black-2Port-Header-Motherboard-Adapter/dp/B00YM3TQ7E

The adapter first linked will connect USB 3.0 ports on your case to USB 2.0 ports on your motherboard. What you really need is entire new USB ports, there is no way to get USB 3.0 speeds over USB 2.0 ports.

As for backwards compatibility, it is for devices only, the ports them self are not backwards compatible. AKA a USB 3.0 protocol can not run on USB 2.0 ports.

It plugs into the 20 pin USB 3.0 port on your motherboard.

Is it because you want USB 3.0 in the front of your PC?
Because you already have 4x USB 3.0 in the back.

You could just buy a front tray

Edit: Link doesn't work. here's from amazon https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Front-Panel-Connector-Adapter/dp/B00J4EZE4U/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1469062154&sr=1-3&keywords=front+drive+usb+3.0
You should be able to get some under 10$

By reading it again.
I think you believe that because the case only support USB 2.0. You will only be able to use your USB interfaces on on 2.0 speed at the back panel.
But that doesn't have any effect. the backpanel is directly connected to your motherboard. The case is just a case. But the 2 already installed USB ports on the front of your case only support USB 2.0 if you connect it to the motherboards USB Headers.

But again if you need the USB 3.0 speed on some front ports. You would just be able to buy like a 3.5" and install it in the front like a regular DVD Drive.
