Hi, I am new to overclocking, i've tried raising multiplier to 20ish, to get 4.0 Ghz,
but my CPU keeps throttling, it varies from 1400MHZ to 4000MHZ all the time.

I disabled C1 HPM and APM stuff like that, I cannot seem to find Cool & Quiet on my mobo.

When I'm not doing anything, CPU stays at 3700 MHZ, as soon as I run prime25, it goes to 4000MHZ, and I can observe that as soon as it hits ~50 degree, it will go back down to 1400 MHZ.

Maybe it's a temperature problem? How do I increase the max temp?

No those temps are fine.

Did you disable the turbo?

Yes I did, right now, as soon as it hits 52 degree, I can hear my fans running faster and then it drops to 1400 MHZ again.

/e could it be the fans? I set it up to 300 RPM and Chassis to 300RPM as well. I followed a youtube video.

/e Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download ...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link ...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility....simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

No... 52c is well below the threshold

This is what it looks like without prime25

As soon as I turn on prime25, and it hits ~52 degree, all my CPUs drop to 1400 MHZ, but prime25 itself does not fail.

My problem is that it does not stay constant at e.g 4300 MHZ, instead it keeps dropping to 1400 MHZ, is that supposed to be normal or not?

Thing is, if the game I am playing does not require much and does not go up to 52ish degree, my frequency stays high at 4300, but as soon as it goes above 52 degree, they all go back to 1400 MHZ.

If you don't overclock, does it throttle? Does your voltage drop under load?
