i'm OC'ing my Twin Frozr 460, this time going after the memory clocks. using afterburner. How long do i run Kombuster before deciding i can up the clocks and test again?

also, is 8x MSAA fine or should i put it at the highest 32CSAA?

You are nuts. Crysis 1 is more demanding on benchmarks than Crysis 2. Just look up the benchmarks! LOL All video cards run lower FPS on Cry 1 then they do on Cry 2 by about 20-30 fps.

Batman is a good test but not the best: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Crysis-Benchmark-Tool-1.05-Final-download-1791.html

The is the Crysis 1 Benchmark tool. Think of running the game maxed out on the most intensive parts of the game 100%. It will either melt your computer or slow it down a whole damn lot.

Edit: Metro 2033 is also a very demanding game. I think Crysis and Metro are the two best to test your hardware.

crysis 1 as far as stability?
idk, doesn't crysis 2 have more tesselation and shizzle.

lol No. Crytek said Crysis 2 would be way better than Cry 1 but in all honesty, Cry 2 was too Hollywood shooter while Cry 1 was all about realism.

Here are some ideas on how a 690 handles these games. All these we will compare a 690 for a benchmark test.

http://www.guru3d.com/imageview.php?image=39945 Crysis 2 - 93 FPS
http://www.guru3d.com/imageview.php?image=39951 Battlefield 3 - 99 FPS
http://www.guru3d.com/imageview.php?image=39944 Metro 2033 - 67 FPS

As you can tell Metro 2033 is much more demanding that either BF3 or Cry 2 and Cry 1 is far more demanding as I will post next. Mind you this is a 690 (Dual 680 GPU setup) so even a 690 maxes the game but barley on Metro. A 460 might be able to play on the lowest settings at a low resolution. Nvidia cards are > at lower resolutions while ATI > at higher resolutions.

never played metro 2033, but crysis i have always been able to keep maxed ( very high ) settings and either 4x AA, or 2x on multi player.

btw, dont see a benchmark option, i gotta download a tool?
edit: sorry, didn't see you said tool, was looking on phone.
