RAM is $8 over what regular 1600MHz RAM is, though its timings are nice (but doesn't matter since it's going to be on an AM3 socket setup).

Processor is $25 more than an AMD x4 955.

Power supply is way overpriced by $30 minimum, a 750W Corsair can be had for $110.

That's $63 that can be saved simply by switching things around. Which is, coincidentally (if rounded) exactly the amount you are 'saving' by getting this combo.

If you were to get an AMD x4 955, a 750W Corsair, and 4GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM and use combos for all three, you could save some real money... and blow that combo out of the water by a significant amount.

While the incentive of the thread is good... looking to save people money... I think I could save a ton more money with a little more effort put into combo finding; the Corsair A70 is on sale for $30 at NCIX... sales like that are decent: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=53612&vpn=CAFA70&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1339

I know bro...I doubt you could get better at less tho...that's a whole comp ^^

I was actually trying to do what you suggested...with gfg parts ofc...and I could see it was gonna hit 900+ before I was done :/

Just saw the combo by accident lol

By all means the combo isn't bad. But just saying one could be a little thriftier. $30 of it is going to what I would consider not a great buy on the power supply. I'd rather spend $80 on a 650W of approximately equal performance on sale, and put that saved $$$ toward an i5 2500k. ^_^

DDDDDDouble Pppppossttttt

But why. You can get a single 6850 for $130 currently in Canada. Versus a 6870 for $200?
