I have a base score of 3.0 <_< I believe my processor is fine, my memory is obv fine with 4gig, however I only have onboard graphics, I'm starting to get into gaming more, and I notice some of the games I would like to buy and play have specific details that my graphics won't allow me to play. I know my mother board does not have the agp slot, it's the pci express, I just don't know what a good solid video card to buy to raise my score higher and let me play some of the newer games, can I get some suggestions please, I'm thinking the maximum I would like to pay would be around $150.00 dollars for a card, throw some suggestions at me please. :)

Are you looking to go new or used? You can get a Radeon HD5770 for less than $100 used which would be a great performer for anything you'll be looking to play. Your CPU at that point will be the bottleneck anyways.

Also, ditch Vista.

Powercolor isn't my #1 preferred brand but it all comes down to personal preference but yes. Your graphics card is your biggest issue however, your cpu/motherboard/ram aren't helping the situation.

I believe you just completely lost me... I typed in exactly what you suggested " Radeon HD5770 " and posted the only thing that came up, now you say my cpu, mother board, and ram aren't helping either? can you please be alittle more specific?

Sorry. There are different brands that make video cards. Powercolor, XFX, HIS, Sapphire, ATI, etc. :)

Basically I'm telling you that your computer is fairly old and outdated. :)

Adding the graphics card will substantially increase your performance in gaming. More than anything else.

this is good to know, since the whole topic is about a video card only anyway :P yes the computer is not 2011, but I believe with adding a good solid video card it will give me the chance to do things that I can not do at the present moment
and the ' Radeon HD5770 ' that you suggested, what brand would you choose? because when I typed it in, I only got that suggestion I screen shotted, am I doing something wrong? maybe you can find one for me and post it? :D

I know, just giving you a heads up. :)

The bonus is the video card could be placed in a newer computer should you update down the road...

I prefer XFX myself, but they are a bit more expensive. I've just been happy with their product and service.

Sapphire is another one of my favorites and a bit cheaper.

Many do use PowerColor and don't have any issues. I personally don't have any experience with them.

thank you very much for this information, I saved both links in my favorites and will look them over, however just a curious question, with adding one of these, and having a base score of 3.0 what do you think my score would jump to?
and would I be able to play games like assassin's creed, and call of duty, etc, because my on board graphics won't let me play them ( trust me I tried LOL )
