I can boot my pc without my gpu, but it only goes into bios. With my gpu, it sits on boot and doesn't show me a screen on the monitor. Does this mean the gpu is dead?

If you can’t get into your OS when you unplug the GPU from your motherboard, then it sounds like you have either a motherboard or hard drive issue. Do you have a spare one with an OS on it that you can test with?

Opposite!

Can't get into it with the GPU plugged in. I just get bios without the gpu, but with the gpu itself i don't get bios at all either. It does show that I have a connection but nothing shows up on the monitor.

I was going to take in my pc to microcenter tonight

Ah then yeah, could be a bunch of things but checking the hard drive is what I’d start with since you can’t get into Windows

I have both a m.2 and a SSD. I think I have my OS on the m.2 but I don't really have backup USB with OS to port into the other one and give it a try.

Are both hard drives showing up in bios?
If you have another pc you can plug them into, that’d be a great way to test

Yeah they both show up in bios.

No other pc, though.

Ah gotcha.
I’d guess either your OS got corrupted, or your boot drive is using legacy bios MBR which needs a GPU to boot into your OS. You’ll probably need to take it somewhere to get it checked out since you don’t have another PC. Hopefully Microcenter doesn’t charge you an arm and a leg for it

Yeah, it is not bad. 40 buck for a diagnostic. More than I'd want but also not too much to feel bad. The local guy wanted 75

See if you can boot into safe mode, if you can, uninstall the gpu driver.
