I like to have WoW + D4 + 10 tabs + a live stream or youtube video going as well as just general browsing

my gpu is a nvidia 3060 12gb gddr6

i know it can be a number a things causing my computer to lag... also it gets the bluescreen of death
but everything is pretty high stuff...i can list all specs if want... but i can only think that the issue is my gpu

What do you think of this gpu? I guess now they are more lower end gpus running $300 on amazon... would upgrading it allow me to run all that high demanding stuff very smoothly?

Thanks for all replies!

Was thinking it could be windows 10 being absolute dog...

Haven't really heard any problems like this with 10 tho... so looking at other options first...

I think it most likely is a memory problem... a leak or w/e... I ordered 2x 32 gb ram sticks which will double my computers memory... thought i'd try that before breaking the bank for a gpu I might not really need yet.

Sometime, a gpu/bios/changing pc pieces can make this happens, but 100% of the time if you just get blue screen it's because the windows is corrupted, install a fresh one and you'll be good.
Also, if you change your ram, make sure you have the XMP activated for the MHz

Ok will keep in mind for sure... I would think if windows is corrupted at no fault of my own... I would be entitled to a replacement copy or something

And def will check to make sure XMP is activated thanks.... I never really have issues until I run quite a bit of programs at the same time and switching from one to another
I have msi afterburner installed and when my computer hits around 80 degrees... if I keep it under that kind of strain (even tho google says 80 degrees is normal) it will eventually freeze/bluee screen restart itself.

I always though msi afterburner was good until i find out it was adding +10 degrees to my CPU.
You might want to double check on that also

Btw you could just reset the PC

It could do the trick if you dont mind losing anything, just wipe everything and reinstall fresh

FYI You can 100% blue screen from faulty GPU and other reasons as well

Sounds like you're running enough programs to make it memory intensive enough to potentially crash, see how the new set of 2x32g does you & see what happens

What CPU are you running? 3060 is a great GPU for 1080p high frames and entry/mid level 1440p (depending on game)

Would recommend checking out how to undervolt your GPU to keep it cooler since you're using MSI Afterburner, plenty of YT videos out there & it's rather basic

Yeah at first I though it could be my GPUs memory but realized its 12 gb and the higher end ones have 16gb so kinda turned away from that and just figured to try some bigger ram

my cpu is good still i think... i9-10900k 3.70 ghz

undervolting looks like an all around good thing to do according to google... so ill use this if the new ram sticks dont solve it and seems like a good thing to do even if it does solve it hah... ty

Yes the 12g is actually very solid, the ti variant only has 8g along with some other models, so although the 3060 is less money it does have more VRAM which helps and if you hit the cap it should only start seeing lag/input lag or textures dropping and simple things along those lines

I had a faulty 2060 couple years back that kept giving me blue screen, they RMA'd it for me but originally couldn't figure it out, so keep that one in mind.

Very nice CPU btw, hoping it's just your ram sticks! GL and post updates
