Hey there, I just recently began to learn how to play acoustic guitar (teaching myself) and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for good videos/songs/tips when it comes to learning?

Currently learning Good Riddance by Greenday and Swing Life Away by Rise Against but any easy songs, online tutorials, etc. would be greatly appreciated ^_^

For those of you who taught yourself to play, what worked for you and what did not?

Thanks so much!

Learn your basic chords and practice switching between them randomly to get your muscle memory going

I tought myself how to play, plus had a couple friends show me a few things here and there. When I was first starting out I practiced switching between the chords C G and D, just with those three chords alone you can play Bottle of Wine, Puff The Magic Dragon, a lot of Pink Floyd, and a lot more than you would think. The song Free Fallin' by Tom Petty is all just different variation of the D chord. Reading tabs was mainly the only way I could learn anything, but youtube tutorial videos can help to an extent as well... good luck on the guitar
