There is sometimes some production discussion in this thread. http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=39210767&f=186

There are sites specifically geared towards psytrance (and it's many relatives) production that would probably be good resources. Check out the Isratrance and Psymusic forums.

Any DAW will work, you can get hardware too if you want but it comes down to preferences and how much you want to spend. It's sort of a broad topic. Nothing you can really detail in one thread but if you're new to music production then the road ahead isn't exactly a short or easy one but if you're dedicated there's no reason you couldn't make nice psy music if you set your mind to it.

As far as products, like I said, any DAW works, whichever you like best. But I would definitely recommend Ableton Live personally. I really like it, but sometimes I also use Logic for different reasons. You're gonna need sound sources... mics or instruments and some effects like reverbs, delays, EQs, compressors, etc to process those sounds. You can go the hardware route or the software route or a combination of both. Neither is particularly cheap but software is significantly cheaper most of the time, though the sound is a bit different. You can also crack software if you're too poor to buy it. ;) Hardware has advantages though so it all comes down to preference and price range.

There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube and the forums I mentioned. You can also find walkthroughs and things of that nature for learning but typically you will have to buy those products unless you can find them for free online.

Anyway check those resources, my post is hardly any kind of real introduction to this but it's a very broad topic and will take time to sort through. Good luck and have fun.

Good midnight,

I am not a psytrance nor dub producer but the daw doesn't really matter what you pick (digital audio workstation).
Make sure you go for 140-150 BPM since it's the most common basic when you work (Beat Per Minute).

You could start out with Nexus (plugin) since it's a very common plugin for any electronic platform. From there you can try out the psytrance expansion!
There it includes LDS/BS/ARP/PLCK packs that do fine in the genre! When it comes to dub it exist a plugin from Native Instruments named Razor!

The whole plugin is based on Dubstep/Dub/Drum N Bass sounds such as wobbling, FX, Errorcodes etc

PM if you have any questions!
