Maybe I don't understood the question clearly, since it's 03:00 AM and I am totally brainwashed due to my project...
But did you asked for monitors for mixing?

I do exist KRK monitors for like 180$, not really the best ones but fair price.
Else I would recommend Genelec!

I don't know what he is saying :(

I am looking for some desktop speakers (for computer). Moderate size and utmost balance/clarity I'm iso.

I'm trying to learn about what goes into a 2.1 sound system.

So far I've learned about subs, amps, and satellites. I just find it hard to pick stuff and even find things. I don't really know what to type in to a search engine to find what I want.

He was asking if you were looking for studio monitors for mixing audio. If you want "professional" studio speakers then you are probably going to want to be looking for a high quality monitoring setup. If you aren't mixing with them, then look for monitors that sound good regardless of their frequency response. If you are attempting to mix with them, I would choose carefully and try to listen to them before purchasing rather than ordering offline and hoping they sound good when they arrive.

He recommended KRK and Genelec. I personally feel KRK's are a bit hyped but perhaps that's what you want if you're purely listening for enjoyment. I haven't really heard quality Genelec's in person but I've heard good things about them.

If you don't want monitors then just read some reviews for computer speakers. I wouldn't know where to direct you on that one though. Most monitors are usually built with a different intention in mind.

I just want speakers that will make everything sound amazing. I'm not an audio mixer, just a guy who wants some quality sound for movies, games, and music lol

I was starting from that you were posting this thread in a musician chat and therefore were looking for monitors that mainly suits for mixing but I guess I'm wrong.
If you're searching specifically for 2.1 I'd recommend you (from a musicians perspective) Blue Sky, they have a pack named Blue Sky System One 2.1 which includes 1 pair of Sat and 1 big Sub. They goes for like 2900$ last time I saw them.

Else it exists (if you're not very selective) same brand (Blue Sky) but in eXo-category. Look up for Blue Sky eXo pack and you'll find something well working.
They are mainly created for music, but should work without a problem with games, movies.
