and yes, that goody reflection in the tube is me...


Trying to make some effects pedals. Started with one design and got it prototyped. Its an overdrive/distortion type of circuit and although I have lots of tweaking to do, I have been able to get some very cool sounds out of it.
Hopefully within the next few days I can get it dialed in before advancing on to a more final product state and then actually enclosing it and finishing.

Anyone else build any of their own equipment? Pedals, amps, guitars, anything?
Ive done some swirl painting too which is also pretty fun. Im hoping to finish my pedal in the same fashion if I get that far soon.

Finally got around to building a "pedal". Its a roughly done prototype more than it is a pedal but it works and sounds decent. If I grow to like it I will redo it with a footswitch instead of the lever one and get some better pots with knobs and something to protect the tube with. Heres a quick pic:



My wiring is pretty messy. This is the first circuit ive actually done inside of an enclosure and I didnt do the best job. I believe if I redo it I can do a neater job.

Hows the sound?

The sound is kinda hit or miss. I might just need to dial in a "sweet spot" but it seems like every other time I play through the tube it sounds good then bad then good again.

would be nice to hear some sound samples, that looks pretty rad
