So I just got my first guitar pedal, a Krank Distortus Maximus, and I have it all plugged in correctly but when I turn it on the sound seems to cut out, the bypass works fine so I'm just wondering if this means my pedal is broken maybe I'm doing something wrong ;o

Check your pedal and guitar battery (if you have one).
It's either a power issue or a broken pedal.

Also worth checking the cable ends are tight - sometime mine get a bit loose and i get a disconnecting sound. I would just put brand new batteries in whatever is battery powered - that will determine if it's a battery issue or not

Battery is brand new, and the cables are all tight and working, guess it's a defective pedal :(

go to guitar center and test it with their cables. this happened to me but it was because of my shitty cable. it was fixed once i switched to monster cables. expensive, but well worth it
