Hey guys, I've been playing drums for like 5 months now. Just wondering what you other drummers think of these grooves.. don't expect to be impressed! How do you guys think I'm doing for a new drummer?

Not bad at all!! A few fills were in good taste as well, you seem to grasp the basics very well and thats more than half the battle

just keep practicing every day, find out what fills you really like,
practice them until theyre comfortable at any tempo,
start to add accents,
build on it,
etc

drums are so fun just be patient it pays off!

I am going to give you some advice from someone who has been playing in bands for 13 years (me). Please practice daily to a metronome, as a drummer this is such an important skill later in your musical career. It is absolutely necessary when tracking in the studio since you will most likely be doing drums BEFORE guitar/bass/vocals and whether you are recording in a proper studio or some dudes computer recording DAW rig in his basement he will make you play to a metronome.
