Yeah, so, I've only been playing guitar for off/on a couple months, and I broke a couple strings. So now I need new ones, and I have no idea, what the hell to buy.

I obviously am not a performer or anything so I don't need flawless things, I just play for fun, but, best strings for sound/cost/durability ratio?

I'm sure a lot of this is just purely opinion though.

6 string, electric.

D'Addario, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

D'Addario 10's.

Or say the following "Pack of Super Slinkys 10 guage plx" and you'll get some good strings. Usually a pink packet, or lime green *cannae remember*

Errrrrrrrr no. eBalls are great - very easy to bend, good for quick playing. They don't suit anything below half step downtuning, but are perfect for standard tuning or eFlat

yeah but like, if you play guitar for more than two hours a week, the strings will die in about 15-18 days. The reason why I suggest D'Addario strings comes from their survivability and how well they can maintain correct intonation. something like slinkies is like... the things die quick, the end up sounding like entirely different strings after 2 weeks, and I swear-- back to back these companies and give them an intonation test after a couple weeks, you'll be like omfgd00d.

oh, and heres another good reason.. taken from his site... "Joe Satriani uses: D'Addario EXL120 Electric Guitar Strings D'Addario"

ive always gone with a'addario 10's, but im using super slinky in the pink packets (10's) and they are great from some songs that require excellent bends such as some classic floyd songs where you are going up more then 2 steps per bend, but like bob said any low tuning puts them out of wack,

SIT Power Wound 10-46

Sound great, stay in tune, last a while, and I haven't broken one in several years of using them.
