on a guitar? first off all its totally up to you and your style of playing (assuming this is a guitar) and second of all if you dont know what your doing you shouldnt even

be messing witn your truss rod you should take it to a shop or luther. I honestly have no clue what you mean turning it till it doesnt ring.

if your action is too low, your strings buzz against the fret board. thats what i mean. i like to play string as low as possible because i play rock and metal, i need strings easier to play.

i would like it as low as possible without the buzz.

if you want easier strings to play then go buy some lower guages and makes, as far as your truss rod (what is actually adjusted within your neck to change action)

adjustments unless you know what your doing, like i said take your guitar to a shop for adjustments.

you could end up bowing you guitar unintentionally, the shop might also decide to bow your neck do relieve some of the action, but this is most likely what they will do if

you want what i think yo do.
