Yes I tried one at a local music shop and I really liked it. Except I'd fucking love one that has a bigsby....
But the sound of it= madness

probably won't find a dot with a bigsby pre-installed.

that's a project you'll have to do for yourself, or just upgrade guitars.

IMO - Don't go for the Epiphone Dot. As far as those styled guitars go, Gretch certainly do it better lol.

Obviously - Dream guitar is a big deal, and usually a 1 time expenditure.

There are some incredible Gibson Les Pauls out there <3 But if it's the Jazz-style guitar you are after - then I really recommend Gretch.

it sounds like he has a pretty low price range.

the dot is a pretty solid guitar for that zone, and the only budget gretsch that would compete off the top of my head is a baby electromatic.

with that said, i'd imagine he'd prefer the dot.

e:/ if you read op, he respecified that he's really looking for more of an entry level guitar as opposed to a dream guitar.

what exactly is your price range, op.

If you're buying new, for sure the Ibanez. The craftsmanshi[ in Gibson over the last 5 yearsish has been shit, and the quality control of Ibanez has been the highest standard of manufacturers coming out of china. I'd swap the pickups out of the A75 for these:

www.tonefordays.com

You could also keep saving and buy a White Falcon! Then you really would have the guitar of your dreams.

Ibanez all good - but don't say Gibsons have become shite, thats rubbish lol. They still maintain a higher quality than 90% of the other brands <_<

thank you all for your answers, I am indeed looking for an entry level hollow body guitar, I have tried a les paul in the past and really loved it's sound but for now I won't buy one. I have tried gretsch and they are really nice, I will defenitely buy one when I have more cash, but for now it's just that I need an hollow body guitar for a music project and I want to see where this kind of guitar leeds me. I always been into jazz/blues/rock, kinda doing experimental progressive music..

@superchum: I am buying used but I am aware of what to check/how to make sure the guitar is fine. + I have a really good luther handy who can do miracles. (I once found a telecaster in trash behind a bar the neck was completely separated from the body and he fixed it and it plays reallly good :)
And for pickups I should buy hummbuckers for that baby, not sure which tho :S
Gonna ask people about what they tried and what they think is best for my sound :)

I'll go see an a75 today some of my friend could sell me for 300, it's beautifull, has sunburst finish :)

I agree that for a starter/entry level guitar, the Dot is superior to most - so I guess thats a recommended then,.
